Spring time and fall are my favorite times of the year. I love the flowers and new life of spring as well as the colors and first hints of cool nights in the fall.
Beyond being my personal favorites, I like spring and fall because churches reach many more people during these seasons. A chart would look much like a "two humped camel". This is our season.
In April, we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It is called Easter, but the Jews called that weekend "Passover".
Without the sacrifice of the "passover lamb" in Egypt, (including the smearing of the blood in the form of a cross on the top and both sides of the door frame)... the first born Jews would have died on the eve of their exodus from Egyptian slavery.
Today, only belief in the "lamb of God" who died for our sins on the cross and His resurrection three days later can free a person from "eternal bondage".
We have been privileged to share this "good news" of Christ. In the midst of bad news, "the good news" looks so much better.
Being born a sinner, we are without hope and without excuse. We find that Jesus died for sinners just like us. By faith alone in His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection, we can find abundant, eternal life in Christ.
God has called us and provided great resources. WILL WE HEAR AND RESPOND? YES! Because our calling is for "souls saved... lives changed... and hearts renewed."
